element-comments
Select interface elements, leave local comments, and copy feedback with source file and line information.
Why I built it
A screenshot and a vague request can be difficult to trace back to code. This tool connects visible elements, comments, and source locations for developers and coding assistants.
- JavaScript
- Astro
- Taro
- Babel
Actual interface
Actual inspector on this blog’s development build, captured on 2026-10-26. The comment form was not submitted.
What it does
Select and locate
Select elements in Astro websites and Taro React mini programs and inspect source files, line positions, and text.
Comment and copy
Save comments locally and copy structured feedback with page and source context.
Development integration
Integrated into this blog and the Hearthstone companion. Production builds omit the inspector and source markers.
Current scope and limits
No cross-device synchronization or automatic code changes. Canvas internals, native controls, and some isolated elements cannot be selected individually.
Screenshots document a running interface; this page does not embed the application. Public access is available only where a project website link is shown.
